Great, you’ve found your way to the shiny new Mapswire blog! I’m Stefan and I’m writing about maps and how to create them. As you’ve probably already learned, there are lots of free maps on this website. Please, feel free to use them as you like.
Most of the maps are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license. This license allows you to use and modify the maps, even commercially. You’ll find more details about the license in my FAQ section.
While I’ll continue to provide free maps, I also want to help you to create your own maps. I’ll talk about the tools and data I use and the experiences I’ve made by creating hundreds of maps that have been downloaded more than one hundred thousand times.
My collection of free maps isn’t as complete as it should be, but I’m working hard to expand the coverage and offer different kinds of maps for all regions of the world.
If you’re missing a map, please don’t hesitate to contact me and ask for it. Perhaps I can create it in time for your needs.
